For all of you wondering what songs out of all the music we post that we bump ourselves at B&B I have decided to make a mixtape of our favorites that we can’t get out of our iTunes/Pods. Most of these songs are recent although there are some random songs from a few months back thrown in the mix too. Everyone from Colin Munroe, RAtheMC, Wordsmith, Nipsey Hussle, S-Preme, Drake and more, really anyone who I have been feeling over the past few weeks. If I left someone off there is no need to worry, I plan on doing this more often to let everyone know who is getting the B&B stamp of approval haha. I am also looking for a name for this feature/mixtape series, please post any suggestions in the comments and let me know if you’re feeling it too. Click the break for the tracklist and enjoy the mixtape.

DL: Rihanna – Whippin My Hair

New song from Rihanna which is rumored to be produced by Tricky and The-Dream. I have stayed out of the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna mess, I think too many people took it way too far too early without all the facts in so I just stayed the hell out. Oh and in no way am I sticking up for Chris Brown, I think he is trash, but I also wasn’t just going to blow up at him because TMZ said so either. The leaked police pictures tell the whole story in my opinion and really it is just sad. On a brighter note, I love the Banksy inspired picture above, the photo of the real street art blew my mind the first time I saw it.

We just got another Idle Warship remix and I am digging it. I haven’t liked all of their songs, elcetro-pop rapping and singing aren’t exactly my favorites, but they are one of the few artists that I can listen to a lot of their music outside of the club too. They have been really promoting themselves recently with a string of live shows and singles and more and more people are finally catching up on them and it isn’t just because of Talib. This track is a remix of a Far East Movement song which makes sense now that I didn’t originally know it haha.

I have no idea about the placement of this song but it originally surfaced about a month ago but was all tagged up and now we finally get the CDQ version. Get ready to bring it back because John Legend channels his 60′s R&B soul on this song and my Dad would be proud haha. John Legend is one of my favorite R&B artists out right now, the man just has a silky smooth sound to me and it is original too. He released his Evolver album late last year so I’m not expecting any more music anytime soon but in the meantime this is a quality track for your listening consumption.

DL: Mickey Factz – “Sensibility”

New Mickey Factz track from a Honda commercial he just finished filming. This is the best song I have heard form him in a while, and by a while I mean a few months. I’m loving the beat, especially the deep bass drum and the piano loop. My friend and I were talking about how artists are going to have to start getting their money through product endorsement and sponsorship. It is cool to see Mickey landing such a big spot, good for him and artists like the Cool Kids with their Mountain Dew endorsement a while back, it is gonna be the new way artists get paid.

DL: Kanye West ft. T-Pain & S-Preme – “Flight School” (Remix)

The remix, it really is the blessing and the curse (mainly the curse though haha) of rap. This song was released the other day with just the instrumental at the end which is/was(?) supposed to a be a verse for GLC but now every MC can add their own to it. Normally going through some of the remixes is painful but thankfully over at GWHH they posted the S-Preme version so i don’t have to go through 20 versions to find 1 that is actually good. The past few weeks I have really been feeling the Chicago MC’s music, especially the song “U R” which was released around Valentine’s Day. Check him out I don’t think you will be disappointed.

DL: Christian Rich – Stacks

I haven’t heard too much of Christian Rich before this song but I am feeling it. He flips part of the “Make It Rain” chorus and puts his own twist on Pacman Jones’ favorite club anthem. This song is off of his album dropping next month called The Decadence EP so be on the lookout for it. I need to get caught up on this dude and quick before the EP drops. Shouts to Modi for the hookup.

Jamie Foxx ft. T- Pain – “Blame It”

“Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-al-co-hol” haha yeah this song is great but I must admit that I am disappointed with this video. He gets all these great actors to be in his video to sit in a club scene? I’m sure that makes him feel baller but it just seems kind of stupid in my opinion, if you’re going to bring out the big guns you might as well use them. Not only that, but Hype Williams directs and you shoot only a club scene? I don’t know, after seeing the preview I guess I expected more from all the hype they were trying to create instead of seeing one of the most generic shots in all hip-hop/R&B.

DL: Chamillionaire ft. Game & Ludacris – “Creepin Solo”

A new track leaked from Chamillionaire’s album due out sometime this year called Venom. There were versions of the unfinished song around with just Luda and Chamillionaire but this is the final version. Chamillionaire has always been alright to me but I really started to like this song when I heard The Game and finally Luda who just ripped it. We all know his flow is insane but everytime I hear him go in like this I will like the song by defualt. Props to LowKey for the track.

Nipsey Hussle – “Payback”

DL: Nipsey Hussle – “Payback”

Nipsey brings the gangster lyrics again for his song “Payback” and it only makes me like him more after every song. There have been a few East Coast people I have heard hating on Nipsey which is pretty funny to me because no one I have heard on the East Coast is bringing it like him. His rhyming is on point too, he spits about some real subjects and has some quality lines even though it is a gangster record. Check him out, I normally don’t believe many gangster rappers that they have lived the life or just don’t like the monotony and quality of their lyrics but neither is the case for Mr. Hussle and it is definitely worth the listen.
