Being Portuguese, it goes without saying that soccer is a pretty big thing for me. I will be definitely one of the millions around the world who will tune in to watch every match as it happens for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in South Africa. It was recently announced that K’naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” will be the anthem of the event, which of course makes me proud since K’naan is one of Toronto’s finest. “Wavin’ Flag” is for sure a song that lands itself in the world music category because it’s got that universal sound. For all us soccer fans (and for all of you who have to endure us soccer fans next June), get ready to hear alot more of this track.
