Oddisee is another artist from the DMV who has been doing his thing for a minute. I first heard about him in about 2005 and then didn’t follow up with him until a couple years later when another friend mentioned one of his songs. He has definitely gotten better over that time and only continues to keep evolving every time I hear something new. This song easy to groove to with the piano loop and chorus and most people would consider this real hip-hop because of the conscious lyrics and overall soulful vibe. “Hip-Hop’s Cool Again” is off of Oddisee’s compilation Mental Liberation dropping on May 5th.
