Culdesac being put up here has been a long time coming and I’m glad I got to do it, although it is late. Donald Glover, the actor from Community and former writer for 30 Rock, has released several mixtapes and this smash is the most recent. Yep, I said smash! I had my personal doubts about it because of the rapper/actor thing and really wanted to trash it but then I put it on and the dude is DOPE! He spits some of the wittier lines I have consistently heard in some time and the dude switches it up for the songs. My favorite from this album is the Adele sampled “Do Ya Like” but “I Be On That”, “Got This Money” & “Difference” (yes, generic names but it is still that good) all stand out to me but I have listened to the whole thing many times through at this point.
