Tony Moon – “Straight Poetry”
Juve – “For Now” (Prod. Josh Grooves)
I have recently gotten a couple things in my mailbox that have caught my attention and needless to say that doesn’t happen too often so I wanted to hear what the loyal readers thought of it. I am letting you all decide if these guys get posts again so hit up the comment section with honest opinions and hopefully some constructive criticisms for the artists. Tony Moon is an artist originally from Hampton, VA but now residing in the DMV and he released a mixtape late last year that has a couple tracks I heard and liked on it. The other is Juve, an artist hailing from the Bahamas who is straight rap, no reggaeton or island style tracks here. Both put a lot of emphasis on their lyrics and metaphors, real hip-hoppers who lyrics really ring true for all the readers concerned with staying true to hip-hop. Juve rhymes a little different because of the accent (or at least to me) but it really didn’t bother me in the least bit. I am not sure if this Best of the Mailbox series will ever happen again for several reasons (too many people hitting it up, getting quality tracks, etc) so hopefully this one is a success by comment section standards. This is just one more way to show the artists that I do pay attention to what you send, now it’s time to show a little love back. On that note, good luck!
