Almost everyone I have talked to about this song, in the industry and outside of it, has agreed that this song is smash and will be all over your radio speakers this summer. I still have no idea who Bruno Mars is but I do know that he is the perfect style of singer for this chorus and adds the perfect amount of pop and radio friendliness to the song. The video itself is original with the torn paper look (for lack of a better description) and the shot where pieces of different girls faces come together also plays well to the theme of the track. The Great Adventures of Bobby Ray drops on April 27th so be sure to cop it.
Josh Nardo directs this video and B.o.B tells such a great story in the lyrics that he doesn’t even appear in the video. The song itself is its own movie and he gets actors to portray the characters he is rapping about and it even has a twist at the end. “Not Love” is from all the way back in ’08 but this is the first time I remember hearing it and B.o.B continues to impress me despite being a fan for several years. Go back and get his mixtape May 25th and get ready for his album dropping in April.
There are too many posts I wanted to make this weekend and not enough time, so for the sake of convenience, I’ll just throw it all up in one go. By the way, if you’re into hockey or just want something good to watch tomorrow, check out the gold medal game between the Canadian and the American men’s teams. If Canada wins, then we’ll hold the record for most gold medals won at a Winter Olympic Games. No pressure.
Kid Cudi – “Know Why” (unreleased Cudi from 2008). I’m feeling the chill vibe on this.
Ludacris – “Mind Freak” feat. Criss Angel (jokingly, not seriously). A nice little banger that’s supposedly an unused cut from Theater Of The Mind.
Mos Def – “Auditorium” feat. Slick Rick – fan video. The anime theme does justice to my favorite track off The Ecstatic.
Inspectah Deck, B.o.B., Gorillaz, and Jay Electronica after the jump.

Time to play a little bit of catch up on the posts since I was traveling this weekend and I have to say it is a huge one. B.o.B is one of my favorite new artists and he is dropping this mixtape in preparation for his album which finally received a release date of May 25th (who would’ve guessed?!). It is damn confusing that he is dropping this tape in February but I am willing to look past it if we actually get his album this time around. As always, get the link and the tracklist after the break.
Here’s something to pique your interest just in time for B.o.B.’s May 25th mixtape (dropping February 1st – confusing, I know). Over an old Mr. West beat (he’s got a new rant by the way), Bobby Ray and Ash Roth go in, and you can hear the whole, clear-quality version when the tape drops next Monday No DJ version is up. The XXL Class of ’09 is showing no signs of slowing down, with dudes like B.o.B., Asher, Cudi, and Mickey Factz all showing signs of improvement as their careers progress. Disagree if you must, but I feel that the creative and left-field surge in ’09 (and some of ’08 I guess) was what hip-hop needed to recover after several rather mediocre years. Download link after the jump.
“Exhibit C” is soon to join the ranks of songs like “A Milli” and “I Wanna Rock” for beats that have been used to death. Seriously, it’s a great song, but if you’re rapper #23452 trying to get noticed by the masses, then freestyling over the same beat as everyone else and their brother won’t help. Having said all that, here’s B.o.B. “Exhibit C” freestyle! Three reasons convinced me to post this. Firstly, it’s an actual freestyle, not a “let-me-get-my-Blackberry” freestyle. Secondly, his mixtape May 25th is dropping February 1st, and it’ll be one of the must-download mixtapes of this year. Finally, B.o.B. can seem to do no wrong, and he deserves every bit of hype he’s earned. Download the freestyle (accompanied by a short interview) after the jump.
Back from our MLK day weekend and we are getting right back to the grind. B.o.B goes in over one of my favorite songs from The Cool. I haven’t heard a lot of freestyles from him in the past but he holds his own and keeps his unique style while spitting off the top and for some reason this sounds like I have heard it before but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me. Is anyone else as excited for the B.o.B album which has a May release date now? He also has his mixtape dropping called May 25th dropping soon which will prep us for the long awaited release.
B.o.B announced recently that his album is dropping May 25th and then he dropped this song from the cleverly titled upcoming mixtape May 25th. For the song he remixes one of the most famous Mobb Deep instrumentals of all time in “Shook Ones” and certainly adds his unique style over the gritty beat. Finally B.o.B has gotten an album date and I couldn’t be happier for the release since he is one of my top new rappers. This has been a long time coming since I first heard of him several years ago with his first single on Atlantic, “Haterz Everywhere”, and this is already one of my most anticipated albums of this year. Get the mixtape May 25th in February (that just looks ridiculous lol).

We posted a remix of “Stronger” today from one of the big name young spitters in the game so we might as well double that up. B.o.B gets help from Playboy Tre and Swagg on the song and it really isn’t that great. The B.o.B’s verse isn’t one of his best and Playboy Tre isn’t that good but I was pleasantly surprised by the terribly named Swagg. Props to B.o.B too for having the “Champion” song as the theme for college football bowl week on ESPN, get that video and the download after the break.
Just as I was getting ready for my Thanksgiving holiday B.o.B dropped this first single from the upcoming and highly anticipated album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. B.o.B further blurs genre lines with this song that has a very rock/pop feel to it with Bruno having a very Coldplay sound to his voice. Atlantic looks like they are finally allowing him to release this album, I know I have personally been waiting on any album from him since 2007. Here’s to hoping this song can make it on radio and B.o.B becomes someone I don’t have to mention to my friends anymore as the person they should be paying the most attention to in hip-hop.
