If you aren’t into Baltimore Club then this is the track to introduce you to the other side of the Chocolate City. He talks about a whole lot of issues, personal ones and then industry issues that I hear a lot on the low but don’t hear it talked about a lot out in the open (or on the internet). There is the Chris Brown issue, Jay-Z and AutoTune, MJ and many more and there isn’t a generic answer to be found. As always shouts to Al at Government Names for keeping me up on what is hot in B-more. Bossman is someone we have always liked here at B&B, he can switch his flow up as good as anyone and really lays down some crazy lines and verses. The song above, “Back It Up”, isn’t my favorite of his by any means but I can definitely see the want to get a B-More club track with DJ Class since his song “I’m The Ish” (and particularly his remix with Kanye) are really going to be even bigger than they already are in the clubs and bars this summer. I am curious to see what people outside the normal listening area of Baltimore club music think of a song like this, with hip-hop progressing toward a more electronic sound I would think that it could really have a chance to be pushed more toward the mainstream an get more exposure. They also make heavy use of the AutoTune on this track which I guess is to be expected from just about everything considered pop and that could possibly be played in the clubs. Click below to get the download to this, his song “Break Me Off” and the remix featuring Gucci Mane, Raheem DeVaughn and Jim Jones. No more sleeping on this guy. Bossman – I Wonder (Tribute To DJ K-Swift) This Bossman video is a couple weeks old but I just discovered it and haven’t seen it too many places. It’s a tribute to the “Club Queen of Baltimore” DJ K-Swift who passed away this summer. The song is long but good, I’ve always liked Bossman’s flow.
