Bun BPosts Tagged ‘Bun B’This is one of my favorite songs from the album Stick 2 the Script and a great song to shoot a video to, I wish they had more Pimp C clips though. Statik chops up a bunch of Pimp C samples for the chorus and has Pimp’s UGK partner Bun B and Houston unsung hero Cory Mo rhyming over it. The video is looks like it is shot in Houston and is directed by Wraithe for Kinetik Cinematix. If you haven’t already, go and and get his album, it is definitely one of my favorite recent albums to drop and I rarely like the producer/DJ collaboration albums.

They say imitation is the best form of flattery but it can also be funny as hell at the same time. Cudi freestyles a verse while doing his best Too Short impression. He has the voice and the flow down so it sounds pretty damn good. This video made me think of one of my favorite slept on Too Short verses of the past few years so I am including it after the break. A new (but short) track from my favorite southern rapper. Here is the title track off of the DJ Clark Kent Black Friday Massacre being released in honor of his Air Force 1’s with the same name. Bun rhymes over Geto Boys’ “Mind Playing Tricks on Me” instrumental and tears it up and the whole time he is rhyming about his sneakers haha. I knew Bun was a sneakerhead and this song proves it. Some of the rappers from the Houston area put together this song in support of Obama. I put Bun B’s pic up there since he was the first one to put them together on his album Trill for the “Draped Up (Remix)”. Although this song doesn’t have as many artists as that original song, it still has a lot of the heavy hitters from H-Town. I always like to see the unity and I especially like the show of support for Obama. Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. This track just oozes Houston with the screwed chorus and you could throw these guys on any beat and it would be Houston to the bone. Enjoy! Statik Selektah keeps coming with some more regional powerhouse features and this Houston track is no different. He gets Bun B and Cory Mo, the producer and rapper extraordinaire, two longtime mainstays on the Houston scene, to step up and record some verses. H-town is gonna go crazy over this joint. There are also some Pimp C samples in the chorus and Bun B always throws down the hardest verses in all of rap. This one is definitely going in my rotation.
