I don’t know why I haven’t posted every single day of Freeway’s Month of Madness because every single song I have checked out has been bananas. This song has got Freeway just going nuts with his flow and delivery again and the beat is cool with another sampled chorus and a nice retro R&B horn section loop. Freeway also dropped a video on us speaking about the beef and battle with his hometown rival Cassidy, click the break to check that out. Here is the link to the last song I covered on Freeway’s Month of Madness called “Rap Spitters”. Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Freeway is releasing a song every day this month and he gets Don Cannon to produce for him on this one. The track is a street joint and it is good for a mixtape track. This Month of Madness campaign is brilliant, its the same as doing a mixtape but just releasing a song daily. Everytime I listen to Freeway I become more mesmerized by his flow, it is definitely unique and he can spit a good verse too. Freeway is going to have a busy Decemeber. He plans to release a song on every day in what he is calling his “Month of Madness” and this only day 3. We get a great track though with Jake One on the beat, nice little exchange of Jake’s beats since Freeway provided some verses on his album White Van Music. Am I the only one who when they saw this thought the beat would have a “Call on Me” sample? T.I. and “Live Your Life” got me messed up in the head. The video finally drops for my favorite track from White Van Music. Jake One got Rik Cordero to direct this video and it is pretty raw and cool. There are a bunch of shots of each of the rappers in his home city, Freeway in Philly and Brother Ali in Minneapolis, at some of their favorite spots. Jake appears in a few shots composing beats but the focus is primarily on the guest rappers. Shout out to the Pat’s and Geno’s shots in Philly, I could really go for either one of their cheesesteaks right about now. Freeway puts it down with a video for Obama. There is nothing too crazy with the video prodcution but definitely pay attention to the lyrics. He talks about some serious stuff in the verses and even the chorus. Again go vote if you haven’t already! Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. Sap Da Beat Man produced this nutzo beat that is heavy on what I think is the xylophone, that’s right I said xylophone. That’s how crazy this song is, it makes me have to look up how to spell ridiculous words like that. Anyways I have to assume this is off of the upcoming album Freedom of Speech which should be dope. Freeway hits us with a soul heavy sampled beat and just him rhyming/shouting haha. Now we are just waiting for his album Freedom of Speech to drop but I still don’t have a date on that yet. I have no idea if this will be on it or what album/mixtape this is placed on but I do know the producer is Blunt. Wish I had more but I’m fresh out on Freeway info.
