Now that the summer is over we finally get the official video for one of my summer jams lol. Check out what Al over at Government Names had to say since he is much more versed on the Baltimore scene then I.
Enjoy the cool effects!
Time to play more catch up. These songs were both released recently (being in the last couple weeks or so) and I hadn’t gotten around to them so I thought I would knock both out in one post. Marky adds a new verse to the beginning of the “I’m the Ish” (Remix) with DJ Class and Kanye West and Marky is the first DMV artist I have heard that jumped on this song. He also takes the DMV to the West Coast with his track “The Anecdote”. I liked hearing an artist try tackle another style that is not their normal one and Marky actually did a great job on this song tearing apart this West Coast beat. Check below the break for the downloads and to listen to “The Anecdote”.
This is one of my favorite songs of the past couple months and I wish they had a bigger budget for the video and that there was an unedited video out there. I actually had never heard this version of the song before because I have been bumping the versions I gave you way back when, you know the ones where they actually say “I’m the shit”, both the original and the remix with Yeezy. I will say this is some raw footage of some B-more club scenes and there are some dudes going off dancing to this track (presumably haha). I could go without the backup singing on the chorus though, I hadn’t heard that before but I recommend you go back and listen to those other two because this song in general is one of my jams of the summer.
I really should’ve had this up months ago but I slept on it and thanks to Al over at Government Names I finally am posting it up. This is the Kanye remix above but if you click the break I am including the original, I don’t think it’s right that I slept on the original and then only post the remix. This is some real club music, DJ Class has been doing it for a while on the Baltimore scene and this single helped get him signed to Universal Records. I promised I was going to try to stay away from the Kanye feature for as long as possible but when I saw Kanye helping remixing an artist from Maryland I knew I had to throw it up.
