Here is one more reason to go buy the Jay Stay Paid album which dropped today. I am loving who Pete Rock chose to perform on these, not that he would ever do it wrong, but it is so cool that somebody got it so right. But if the two rhymers being featured with him didn’t make you want to go buy the album then I suggest you read this article here explaining how the money from this album will help Dilla’s family now that he is gone. According to a HipHopDX interview with Dilla’s mother, aka Ma Dukes, that Vibe article linked above really helped make it easier for the family, with all the divisions and beef associated with hip-hop it is great to see the community rally around the family for a common cause and help bring some positivity back to the game. This is the realest of real hip-hop and it is for a great cause so support it.

J Dilla is posthumously dropping an album next month (June 2nd) called Jay $tay Paid and everybody should go buy it. The album is executive produced by his mother, arranged by Pete Rock and also features guest artists as well as straight Dilla beats. The song above is “Dilla Bot vs. The Hybrid” featuring Danny Brown and Constantine and I think it helps illustrate the greatness of this album.
