I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving but it’s immeadiately back to business. Here is the first song to drop off the soundtrack to the Notorious movie that is coming out. The beat is by Mr. Kanye West himself and it sounds very similar to M.I.A.’s beats with a simple chanted chorus. Jay is loving that style right now just like Kanye and his AutoTune.

Coldplay ft. Jay-Z - “Lost” (Remix) (Video)

This is a cool remix off of Coldplay’s upcoming EP called Prospekt’s March. The video is of a live performance of the song with a taped section of Jay-Z doing his verse during the guitar solo. I still like the original better (yes, I’m being one of those guys) but this is a pretty good remix. I would’ve liked to have seen Jay join them on stage instead of doing a taped cameo but it’s a remix, there is only so much you can ask for from it and usually they don’t even get videos.

Ludacris gets an allstar cast together to collaborate on this monster track titled “I Do It For Hip Hop”. As the tagged voice on the song will tell you this is from his album Theater of the Mind dropping Nov. 24th. Donny Goines had a DJ Static produced song of the very same title off of his mixtape The Excerpt a while back that is really dope too. I wish I had the remix with Jon Hope, A. Pinks, etc. but Donny hit me with the remix so click the break for the original which Donny destroys and the remix.

Nardwuar Interviews Common

Nardwuar’s interviews are the absolute best when it comes to music. If you can get past the whole character he plays you realize that his music knowledge is second to none. The records, props he brings out and questions are all on point. In almost every interview he brings up some obscure question to ask the individual that usually blows the artist away. Unfortunately a lot artists are turned off by the in your face enthusiasm of Nardwuar and not all interviews go so well. Check out his interviews with Jay-Z and Pharrell after the break and the link to his site, he really blows Pharrell away with his questions.

Finally we get the real song and not a radio rip. I purposefully have been trying to stay away from the radio rips because I think they can ruin a song for someone if the first time they hear it the audio sucks. This song is a mellow one and uses a soft keyboard and vocal sample. This doesn’t sound like a single to me but more of a quality album track. I really like when artists have the opportunity to release these sorts of tracks instead of going with something that is more radio friendly.
