letterPosts Tagged ‘letter’This is the first video from Fest’s latest effort which we posted called Dangerous 5-18. The song is the same as the one that Wale rhymed over a while back and features vocals from John Mayer which I’m not sure is a good thing these days haha. This is off of NahRight’s one shot series and is directed by Court Dunn who could be the Rik Cordero of 2010. Court directs almost half the videos that I post up now (or so it seems) and is really putting some work in this year. Conceptually the video is dope with the letter being written out on the screen and is about as much as you can ask for from a mixtape track video. This is the first single off of Fest’s upcoming mixtape Dangerous 5-18 and features John Mayer helping out for the backup vocals and chorus.
In case you forgot, Wale also released a song using the same John Mayer song and that can be found here. Get the tracklist for the tape and the download below the break. This song was supposed to be on his album Attention: Deficit but was scrapped at the last minute. Wale is writing Obama a letter with his first verse, to Tupac with the second verse and all the while John Mayer sings the chorus. Mark Ronson is also one of my favorite producers across genres and he easily incorporates Mayer’s great guitar playing with a piano loop. I like the concept of this song and am wondering why it got cut from the album? I have to assume it is some red tape at the labels but you never know, hopefully it means he had a tough decision to make with all the good songs he has to choose from. Download: Wale ft.
