Yes I am music nerd so I love reading this sort of stuff. This article over at JamsBio Magazine, the same place that gave us the Isaac Hayes samples article, basically takes you on the journey of a song and musician as seen through a crate digger’s point of view. The author, Daniel Werman, takes you through the joy of finding that break in a song that you just know no one else has found. He also details the excruciating process of trying to find more information about a record when you have very little to go off yourself, thankfully the internet has made this a little easier but older rare records are almost never listed online and frequently you aren’t even sure if you’re looking for the right thing. Anyways I really enjoyed the article and would suggest everyone else check out. Everyone’s crate digging inner-Kanye will instantly love the story. |
