We hit you with the first single off of the tape by Freebass808 with Tabi Bonney and now here is the whole joint.

World, meet Anatomy Magazine’s Great American Mixtape: Side B, by Mick Boogie & Terry Urban. This side, in contrast to The Hood Internet release, features America’s favorite rock hits translated into block rockin’ hip-hop tracks ready to kick a hole in your speakers and your perception of the genre. That is because Side B of the Great American Mixtape does something that no other mixtape has done before: It truly cross pollinates rock music artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Guns and Roses, The Doors and Led Zeppelin with hip hop into one comprehensive and radiant piece of work with thought provoking soundscapes that reveal everything that the hip-hop genre can be.

Tabi hits us with his first mixtape which features one of my favorite songs of his called “Nuthin But A Hero” and also contains the quote which the tape name is based on.

DMV buzzmaker tabi Bonney has teamed up with Mick Boogie and DJBooth.net to take listeners on a trip to A Place Called Stardom.

Stardom, Bonney’s very first mixtape release, features 24 tracks’ worth of original material, including Booth-approved leaks “Killer People” and “Get Me.”

Making guest appearances are Wale, Raheem Devaughn, GZA, Jovi Rockwell, Curren$y and more. Beats come courtesy of such heavyweight producers as The Alchemist, Cosmo and Jon Redwine.

Grab the tracklist of previously released and unreleased material below the break.

Peter, Bjorn & John ft. Big Pooh, Chaundon & Phil Nash – “Stay This Way” (DJ Jazzy Jeff Remix)(Video)

Here is the latest from Mick Boogie’s new mixtape, Re-Living Thing, where he remixes PBJ’s album with a gang of talented rappers. I haven’t had the chance to go through the whole mixtape but if the other songs are as good as this I will have to make some time to check it out. For this video they go all NES on us with the simple 8 bit graphics which made me think I was playing Tecmo Bowl. The video is simply done but it is still original and brought me back to the days when me my brother and sister split our own Nintendo together when we were little lol. Grab the mixtape Re-Living Thing by clicking on the mixtape name.

Peter, Bjorn & John have been getting the Chester French hip-hop embrace lately with Nando’s song “Amsterdam” and this tape dropping now. Check what Mick Boogie had to say about it.

It’s finally here! The long awaited, Mick Boogie curated remix project for one of the world’s coolest bands, Peter Bjorn & John! I got together with some of my favorite producers and emcees and came up with a Mick Boogie classic! All your favorite PBJ songs from their “Living Thing” album completely remixed and reworked, and I think you’ll love them all.

Grab the link and tracklist after the break.

Peter, Bjorn & John ft. Wale, Rhymefest, Young Chris – “Nothing to Worry About” (Kickdrums Remix)

I have liked this song since it came out and the Kickdrums always add some unique production to any song they remix. The loop at the beginning of “Cmon everybody lets all get down” and the simple drum beat gives the song an old school feel and although I would never see that as the direction the remix would take  the Kickdrums pull it off well. This song is my second favorite by PB&J (ha just realized that as I wrote it) behind “Let’s Call It Off” even though at first it reminded me a lot of Justice. This song is off of an album called Re-Living Thing where PB&J team up with Mick Boogie to remix their album Living Thing and since it is Mick Boogie it will be one of the few remix albums I will listen to all the way through.

Mick Boogie creates a mash up of two songs I like a lot and does a pretty good job of it. Mash ups make me skeptical, especially when it is two songs I already like by themselves, but he pulls it off well. He is mixing Pharcyde’s “Passing Me By” and Peter, Bjorn & John’s “Nothing to Worry About”, which reminds me of Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” with the children singing. What do you guys and girls think? Check the download and the two original songs below.

Let’s continue with our impromptu Cinco De Mayo Mixtape Fiesta with another one, and then there will be another one. I usually do not post mixtapes this frequently but these are all artists that I have been into so the good music has to be heard by everyone. The Kid Daytona gets Mick Boogie to assist him on this mixtape and comes with a much shorter project than the other two that are being posted today. The theme of the mixtape is with each song we are building more upon the machine that you can Come Fly With Me, well with him, since that is going to be the name of his album. Each producer took the sample from the intro track and chopped up to make an original beat and you can tell they are all “related” by listening to the bass groove in each song. He also was pretty original with concept of having each song with a title like “The Navigation” (the song above), “The Engine”, “The Body” etc. to go along with the album theme. The production is pretty nuts too, if I had to describe it I would say jazzy chaos on a spaceship. If you don’t get it then listen to the album because that’s all I got haha. Get the download after the break.
