He started out as a graffiti artist and Stephen talks to him about his now world famous Andre the Giant “Obey” posters and stencils and the concept behind it. It also turns out the Shepard recently did a piece similar to his Obama poster but with Stephen as the subject. N.A.S.A. hits us with more tracks from their album The Spirit of Apollo which drops in February. Keeping with their style, they continue to bring big names together across various genres to perform with them. On this track, they get Kool Keith and Tom Waits, those are just two names I never thought I would see listed featured on a song together. For those of you who do not know Tom Waits, he is the folk rock musician who originally recorded and wrote the song “Way Down in A Hole”, or as you may know it, the theme to The Wire. Promise was featured on a Tona song yesterday and when I saw this M-Phazes track I knew I had to put it up. No, this song is not like all other generic rap songs with the word “money” in their title, Promise instead talks about real life and how we all need money and the problems with money. As for Promise, I like his lyrics and the message and he sounds pretty polished on the track, I will definitely be looking forward to new material from him whenever that may be. M-Phazes always brings the crazy beats and there was a lot of sound (in a very good way) in this one.

Maybe I’m late on these guys but his song and the other I heard are very different and great listens. N.A.S.A. is a group of musicians who perform a bunch of different styles of music but it is centered around these 2 DJs, Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon (thank you MySpace).They must be well respected because each song seems to have big name artists across lots of genres.
