It’s been a minute for Nando but he comes back with a new single and the announcement of an upcoming album (see above picture). I was really feeling this track for the beat, especially the bassline. Soulful is not a producer that I have heard before but if he can continually chop up samples like this I would like to hear some more of him. Nando also approaches the mic with a more laid back flow and approach then I am used to hearing and pulled it off well. I guess we should be hearing more in the near future if we got a new album to look forward to so keep checking back with us at B&B for any updates.

“I be on my dope shit”… I have to admit Nando is always making songs that the chorus gets stuck in my head and that is a great trait to have as an artist. This song is from his mixtape Super Nike Nando which I hope none of you all are sleeping on out there because it was a hot tape. AB gets the production assist on this song and it is solid, sounding futuristic with the synth noises but still says simple with the driving beat. I am glad he let this loose because it reminds me to re-listen to this tape again *puts tape on and starts grooving*.

A new Twitter exclusive from Nando. I am really liking this song for several reasons. First, I like remixes when an artist I like remixes another artist I am into and it is really cool when it is something outside of hip-hop. Second, the beat is crazy. I can not get that loop of the melody on the flute out of my head after listening so I immediately played the song several times. This is great selection of a song to remix by Nando and I don’t even have to mention that he spits some real ish on all his rhymes too. Also check for him on our mixtape dropping this week!

Here is the latest video from Nando. off of his newest sicktape Super Nike Nando. He spits about some real life situations on this song with a little help from Mr. Marvin Gaye on the sample. I am liking the concept for the song and video and this was my favorite track from the whole project so I am glad to see the video depicts the lyrics of the song well. The video is directed by ABB and click on the link above to get it.

Now I know you guys wanna know the reason behind making this record…well…it’s simple. Alot of fuckery is going on in this area and I want NO parts of it. So I’m removing myself. I don’t like the politics in this area you have to be a certian type of person to be accepted. Well I’m not one of THEM I’m me. And apologize if I’m human from time to time but that’s just me other wise I wouldn’t use my music to express myself. That’s the WHOLE purpose of music anyways, right? I’m not just in this to be the best at what I do. I’m not in this to win the love and support of my area because really if that were the case, I’d do the type of music EVERYONE else does…I do this because alot of people feel this way deep down inside but don’t wanna say it….

Best Kept Secret gives Nando a go-go inspired beat to rhyme over and I think it is dope. I am not so sure how people outside the DMV look at go-go but let me know if you like it or not. Here is what Nando had to say about the song himself.

I’m back up in running and I have a song I’d like to test and see what kind of response I could get wether it be negative or positive cause honestly Idc. lol. Well I had to go back to the roots of my city which means Go-Go…lol. Live percussion, etc. It’s produced by DMV’s own Best Kept Secret. I like to call it “Get It Right” it’s a fun party song that you should enjoy.
