Damn, Nipsey goes hard on this track, but I guess I probably sound like a broken record saying that after every song I post up. This is from his Bullets Ain’t Got No Names Vol. 3 mixtape which should be dropping sometime this summer. He really is one of the only gangsta rappers that I keep up with on the regular though and he continues to impress me. Here is what Nipsey had to say about the tape via XXL:

Nipsey drops a video on us from his mixtape Bullet Ain’t Got No Name Vol. 3 before we even get a change to cop the album. You know what it is with Nipsey, he is one of my favorites coming out of the underground from the West Coast and stays gangsta. He by far is the most gangster dude I am listening to these days and it isn’t even close. I used to listen to a lot more of gangsta rap back in the day, but for the most part I thought I was past that until I hear Nipsey. He really brought me back and there is jsut something about him where you know he isn’t rapping about this just for the hell of it, you get the feeling he is really living it. If you’re feeling this then cop his mixtape when it drops soon, it should definitely be worth it.
I know I’m a little late on this but you know what I say, the good music has to be heard. This is a new track from Nipsey and I have to assume it is from his upcoming mixtape Bullets Ain’t Got No Names: Vol. 3. A Notorious sample is used for the “diamonds on my neck” chorus and Nipsey goes hard on the beat. I try to keep putting up as much West Coast stuff as I am feeling but still feel very under exposed to the whole scene, but I stay trying. I do know one thing though and that is almost all of Nipsey’s tracks have been on point so far so I am definitely copping this mixtape when it drops. Get the download below the break.
Time to re-up on some Nipsey, it feels like it has been a minute since he has been on the site. The soft R&B chorus is well sung but something just wasn’t matching up for me, I think it might be her tempo in contrast to Nipsey’s, I don’t know but it did bother me a little bit. I was really into the groove of the bass during the verses, I could hear the funk vibe it was giving off and I liked it. Being an East Coast kid myself, I admit I am not as up on the West Coast as I should be, but Nipsey, Shawn Chrystopher and Murs always get my attention when new stuff come out so check them out if you want to expand your little pocket of hip-hop beyond the East Coast. This is a leak off of his mixtape coming out June 2nd called Bullets Ain’t Got Name Vol: 3.
Nipsey and Jay Rock really should just form a group called “red and blue make green”. This way they won’t have to put each other as featured artists in what seems like every single song and also when they say the “red and blue…” statement this way it will explain why it is said 8000 times every song they are together. Yes, I understand that Nipsey is a Crip and Jay is a Blood so I technically understand “why” they say it I just don’t understand why it has to be said a million times haha. Either way they get Maino from the East Coast to join them on this remix and it is pretty dope, shout out to all our behind the scenes people at B&B out in LA!

For all of you wondering what songs out of all the music we post that we bump ourselves at B&B I have decided to make a mixtape of our favorites that we can’t get out of our iTunes/Pods. Most of these songs are recent although there are some random songs from a few months back thrown in the mix too. Everyone from Colin Munroe, RAtheMC, Wordsmith, Nipsey Hussle, S-Preme, Drake and more, really anyone who I have been feeling over the past few weeks. If I left someone off there is no need to worry, I plan on doing this more often to let everyone know who is getting the B&B stamp of approval haha. I am also looking for a name for this feature/mixtape series, please post any suggestions in the comments and let me know if you’re feeling it too. Click the break for the tracklist and enjoy the mixtape.
Nipsey brings the gangster lyrics again for his song “Payback” and it only makes me like him more after every song. There have been a few East Coast people I have heard hating on Nipsey which is pretty funny to me because no one I have heard on the East Coast is bringing it like him. His rhyming is on point too, he spits about some real subjects and has some quality lines even though it is a gangster record. Check him out, I normally don’t believe many gangster rappers that they have lived the life or just don’t like the monotony and quality of their lyrics but neither is the case for Mr. Hussle and it is definitely worth the listen.
Another new artist is going up on B&B, the West Coast’s very own Nipsey Hussle. My friend turned me on to Nipsey after having seen him all over the internet and not really paying attention too much my friend made me watch him freestyle with Jay Rock on a Sirius Radio show and it was nuts. He definitely has a little bit of a Snoop vibe to him and is all about that west coast sound. One thing is for sure, everything I have heard from him has been gangsta and I never thought I would say this but I feel like rap, especially the new school of rappers, need a few gangstas in these days of tight ass jeans, tiny shirts and afro-mullets.
