I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman feat. Saukrates and Nelly Furtado The best Toronto hip-hop album of 2009 (Tona’s Direct Deposit is a close second) will be released states-side on February 23rd. k-os has been singing, spitting, and producing for over a decade now, and having listened to all his albums I can say that this is one of his best works. Singer/rappers are nothing new, with dudes like B.o.B., Mos Def, and Saukrates all using that style of song-writing; however, k is a veteran triple threat, and so he knows what kind of beats, what lyrical content, and what melodies work for him. As one of the most skilled conscious rappers in the game, it’s about time that k-os gets some major shine. BB Gun are quickly moving up my list of favorite directors for hip-hop videos. There isn’t anything too special about this video in terms of effects or even concept but it is just so well shot, with the kid in the wheelchair and the different characters he encounters along his journey. There is some unfortunate news though for this must get album, it is supposedly being pushed back now to early 2010. I am not 100% on the rumor but if it is true I hope that is as far back as it gets pushed because I am not sure I can take another one. This also means I have to change my most anticipated album chart to the right at some point too, G D it. Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Curren$y has just been spewing out music recently with this song, “Star Power” and his featured verse on “Word Play” and all have been good tracks for different reasons. I still can’t get over his verse is “Word Play” though, he goes in and rides that beat flawlessly. All these songs are presumably to build up hype for his cleverly titled album This Ain’t No Mixtape dropping April 21st. “Fuck being next, my main concern is being current,” that is advice that a lot of rappers should take notice of and listen to what he is saying to in this song. Download: Curren$y – “Wave Race” Nate Robinson changed into his green KryptoNate outfit at the dunk contest to beat Dwight “Superman” Howard and ever since everyone has been wondering if the shoes were going to be released to the public. Wonder no more, according to Nice Kicks the Nike Foamposite Lite “KryptoNate” will be released on March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day, how appropriate) at the Harlem House of Hoops. This will be a very limited release so everybody at the next show your at will not have them on, probably just the artists haha. These really aren’t my style of shoe, I like SBs and AF1’s over most basketball shoes but I had to admit I was curious to see if these things would be released at all after Nate Robinson used them to create a stir at All-Star Weekend and am glad they aren’t going to flood the market with them. Click the break to get another close up shot of the shoe. I’m checking back in after a nice weekend to give you all some great news, Jay-Z has set the release date for Blueprint 3 for Dec. 2nd. So this means Kanye in Nov. and Hov in Dec., nice. I know they wouldn’t have been released the same weekend but I wonder if one had to do with the other? I would assume no but would be interested to find out. He also confirmed a “Swagga Like Us pt. 2″ on his album with verses from Andre 3000, Jeezy, and Nas. This joint should be a banger and M.I.A. continues to collect those checks for that sample haha! Just in case you guys forgot, here is a video of the first single off of the album, Jockin Jay-Z live at MSG.

Per Kanye’s blog, he is now moving up his album 808’s and Heartbreak to “November something cause I finished the album and felt like it.” Damn homey you sound mad, we were all excited with the Dec. release date because that wouldve definitely been a quick turnaround for a new album for a rap star today. Anyways he also mentions “I want yall to hear it as soon as possible” so I definitely resepct that as a fan and can’t wait to hear what he’s got for us this time.
