Mayer Hawthorne – I Need You by stonesthrow

I have a lot of Stones Throw stuff to toss your way and I am going to start it off with my man Mayer. He continues with his soulful crooning and reverts back to his falsetto on this newest tune “I Need You”. There is no download for the song but you are more than welcome to pre-order the vinyl from the link below. Shout out to Stones Throw too, keep checking back for more from the label whose business model I respect the most after being on this side of things for over 5 years now.

Dr. Dre x Jay-Z on the First Detox Single?
March 30
under: Rumors

I am skeptical of anything Detox related due to how long we have waited for it but with Michael Yo (above) and YouHeardThatNew both confirming means it just may be true this time. Either way we know with Jay and Dre on the same track it easily would be one of the most anticipated singles/collaborations since I don’t even know when. If you check out the above link you will read that it is supposedly “uptempo” which isn’t what I would expect from these two icons but I am intrigued to say the least. Look for that song later this week although I still feel like I am being made to look like a sucker.

The Roots debuted this song on Jimmy Fallon in the past couple weeks and they finally unleashed the audio on us. I really am looking forward to this album, this song is incredible and I have already listened several times to it. No one out there has such a great sound like the Roots and it has to do with their musical talent, not only do they play all the instruments but they are all damn good at it too. Be looking out for their album of the same name dropping later this year and you can always check them out at nightly their nightly gig on the Jimmy Fallon show or even at their almost weekly jam sessions at the Highline Ballroom in NYC.
