I can’t hate a song that brings together a bunch of artists I listen to already and some others that I have been meaning to listen to more. Shawn Chrystopher, Phil Ade, Yelawolf & Smoke Dza have all been featured on the site before and I have heard the buzz of Neako and Stalley for a while now so it is time to check them out too. As with most remix songs with lots of features, it is kind of chopped up with the DJ setting up every person’s verse with announcement but all the verses hold their own for different reasons. Yelawolf is on some Bone Thugs flow during the song and I couldn’t make out half of what he was saying, I was still impressed but he needs to make it smoother and less chaotic so more people can get what he is saying. This is off of Neako’s new project dropping next month called The Rubix Cube: Blue Edition.
Haha, finally a new verse from Devin and this picture and the name of this song are hysterical. The picture says it all if you’re wondering what the song is like, another weed anthem for all the potheads in the world. That being said, clearly the song is pretty one dimensional, I didn’t even hear too many new or clever punchlines. The overall sound though is pretty smooth and so is the beat and even though it is a Smoke Dza song, the beat sounds like it could be off of a Devin album. Best line though is “shout out to Ricky Williams and Pacman Jones”, I think Pacman is in enough trouble without being implicated as using drugs in rap songs. I also love the addition of the pitbull and rottweiler to the movie poster, that is funny stuff that they couldn’t just leave a golden a retriever puppy on there and they had to make the puppies more gangsta.
“I ain’t stessin’ shit, this recession don’t effect the rich,” haha that was my favorite line in the song and it sums up the theme too. Just as the name suggests, this is about big money spending and living the life. Although this song isn’t my favorite, it’s great to hear Nas again. There is a shout out to DJ Drama on this so maybe this is on an upcoming mixtape but I’m not sure about the placement.
