I got you Lauryn! You aren’t going to disappear for years and then not get your first leak back up on B&B. I know you all were huge Fugees fans and fans of her solo work because who the hell isn’t? “Repercussions” reacquaints us with her soulful singing voice and there isn’t a rap to be heard on it but it is still satisfying to hear her again. There still isn’t clarification on where this is from but I find it hard to believe she talks about how she wants to make music again, plays a show and then this leaks and it is a chance coincidence. Download the song at the link below thanks to HNM. Download: Lauryn Hill – “Repercussions”
Sorry yall, it seems these singles are on lockdown so it is back to the soundcloud MP3 players only. The more I hear “XXXO” the more I realize it is a smash that will get tons of radio play and with Jay on the remix you can guarantee that will only help the cause over the radio waves and in the club. I’m glad that MIA is back to concentrating on music instead of fighting with reporters over truffle french fries, all the sideshow fights detract from her actual talent. Shouts to Hypetrak for the song and take a listen to the “Steppin’ Up” stream below the break.
Yes I still feel like a girl having to type that at the top of the page despite the last soundtrack being one of the better indie compilations in recent memory. The Eclipse soundtrack picks up right where that one left off too with names like Cee Lo, Florence + The Machine, Muse, Metric, Black Keys & Vampire Weekend all taking songs for yet another epic album. Do the teenage girls who like this stuff even realize how incredible these soundtracks are? My guess is probably not but if every teeny bopper movie series came out with dope soundtracks like this I know it would be a lot easier to tolerate them. Grab the tracklist and this free album stream until tomorrow at noon and you can even pre-order it at the official site all below the break.
Darren hit us with these tracks earlier for the start of his summer. He will be releasing two mixtapes over the summer and he has 3 other songs that came with this one but due to limited room in the header I went with my favorite one.
Grab the link for this one and the other three tracks below the break.

Shad has risen the ranks of being one of my favorite rappers and the London, Ontario native just released his new one called T.S.O.L. yesterday. I haven’t made my way through the whole album yet but the first few songs and the single “Yaa I Get It” have all been good listens and it seems like he has picked up right where he left off with The Old Prince. We also got the audio for his recent interview with DJ Hyphen which he breaks down his inspiration for the album and specifically the single “Yaa I Get It” and talks about some upcoming shows too. There is some debate when the album will physically release in the U.S. and on iTunes but in the meantime you can grab it for pre-order at Maple Music and Amazon (for a lot more and shipping later) now. If you can’t wait for it to ship you can drop over to Spinner and stream the album for free now and get Shad’s breakdown of each song with the interview below the break. I would throw out all preconceived notions you have for M.I.A before listening to this track because it will likely shatter them. M.I.A. goes after a more punk rock sound for this single and talks more through the distortion then she actually sings. There very well might be a backlash to this song since she shies away from the danceable production and goes with the gritty lo-fi distorted sound that will probably get some hate from the people expecting “Paper Planes 2″. As for me, I don’t know what to make of it yet and will listen several more times but it is hard for me to see this making my rotation. “Born Free” is supposed to be from her as of right now untitled new album out in June and I’m sure we will hear from it in the near future if that release dates holds true. Due to notices to take it down on other sites I will not be posting a download link but if you’re crafty enough I’m sure you can find a way. EDIT: That was pretty quick, the soundcloud player has already been removed. I will try to find another way to stream it if possible. You can now stream the song at the link below, enjoy. Stream Link: M.I.A. – “Born Free” This is one of my most anticipated songs of the whole upcoming summer.
B.o.B delivers the goods himself and I have to say I am not disappointed. Is it safe to say Marshall is back too? He has been getting back to his old ways after the Relapse albums released and tearing up his guest verses. Get the link and lyrics below the break. PS – I will upload the stream above later today, until then you will have to download it. All we got is this streaming YouTube video for the song so you will just have to buy the album if you want the song.
Leftback is their final album and it drops on 4/20 so be sure to pre-order your copy here.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser. This one apparently was leaked unfinished about a year ago, and now we get the final version which will appear as a bonus track on The Adventures Of Bobby Ray. Even as a bonus track, “Satellite” shouldn’t be on this album. Granted, it’s not awful, but it it’s not good either. ”Satellite” sounds like it’s trying too hard to work a theme. From the general flakiness of the song to the feigned accent near the end, this track should have stayed on the cutting room floor. April 27 is the album release date, so don’t forget. I guess we will keep the retro feeling going today since we already posted the retro sounding Janelle Monae video and Reflection Eternal songs. After their Blackroc album these guys return to their bluesy, southern rock sounding roots with no hip-hop found on the vocals or anywhere else on the track. The Black Keys’ overall sound is very unique because they put their own twist on the music but it would still be at home on an old Lynyrd Skynyrd album. Their new album is called Brothers and is due out May 18th, the same day as Reflection Eternal. You can stream the song from the site below. Stream: The Black Keys – “The Next Girl”
