the warm up

Wale of all people dropped this CD quality version off at the dope house and it is a quality tune. This is off his mixtape The Warm Up but this is the final version and it is worth at least several listens. I’m going to be honest, that tape is one of several I haven’t had the opportunity to listen to all the way through over these past couple crazy months, I definitely need a plane ride or something to go through all this backed up material I have stored on the computer. If you haven’t heard J. Cole you can cop this song below and The Warm Up at that link.

It’s here, it’s here, J. Cole’s The Warm Up mixtape is finally here. I honestly haven’t had a chance to listen because I am posting right as I get home from work but if it is as dope as the leaks (which it should be) then this will be one of the best mixtapes this year. Yeah I said it without having listened, that’s how much faith I have in this guy’s talent, his lyricism is sick. If you haven’t heard any tracks from the tape you can check out his song “Heartache” here. Check below the break for the download link and tracklist, also be on the lookout for Wale’s Back to the Feature mixtape which is supposed to be dropping this week too. This could be the second biggest week for the music industry behind the Eminem, Red & Meth, etc. week and it is only two mixtapes lol.
J. Cole hit everyone on Twitter with a ditty that didn’t make his upcoming mixtape The Warm Up. Seeing as J. Cole is one of my favorite new rappers and my love for freestyles this was almost a guarantee to go up, I didnt’ even have to listen to it (although I have). Cole puts together some of the best lyrical verses I have heard coming out of the new school, straight up, and this mixtape is going to be fire. I said it before and will say it again, everyone will know who J. Cole is after this mixtape so hop on the bandwagon now so you can say you heard it first. The Warm Up drops June 15th so keep looking out for it.

J. Cole releases another song from his upcoming mixtape The Warm Up due out June 15th. The song is called “Heartache” but I wouldn’t classify it as something only for the ladies because he goes hard with his rhymes on this song just like on every other song I have heard from him. I keep getting more and more excited to hear this mixtape after every track and you know his hype is going to be crazy after that drops. If you’re feeling his music then follow him on Twitter because that is where I copped this track haha.

Are you guys finally feeling this dude? Well you should be after this and the track and “Grown Simba” (and no they aren’t the same song) and if not then just wait for his mixtape The Warm Up. J. Cole’s label, Roc Nation, has been the center of tons of rumors swirling around over which major label Jay-Z will sign his new music conglomerate to but honestly it doesn’t even matter because where ever he ends up he will be allowed to do whatever the hell he wants, it is just who will offer the most . If I were Jay I would stay separate from those sinking ships and find an independent profit model that works, but that is just me. Anyways, back to J. Cole haha, he is a really great lyricist and will climb probably climb into your rotation immediately if you haven’t heard of him until now. Check below the break to download the song.
I knew I shouldn’t have thrown up a shoe post in the middle of a lot of artists dropping good music, lesson learned. J. Cole has been steadily rising in my rotation now with this song, “Grown Simba” and a great performance opening up for Wale recently in NYC. I just might have to put his upcoming mixtape supposedly dropping in about 2 weeks called The Warm Up in my top 5 anticipated mixtapes. Jay has a real solid first artist to build his new Roc Nation label around and I am anxious to see what else he does with that ridiculous deal he signed with Live Nation.
