Justin Timberlake and T.I. team up again and get Timbaland to produce the track. “If I” has a different sound for such a star studded track, this isn’t your typical radio friendly R&B song with a rap verse thrown in. The production has a 80’s R&B pop feel to it, with swirling synthesizer keyboards and a deep bass guitar groove. The half-rapped funny intro and T.I. verses also give you the modern feel too but they all blend together well. I was surprised by how much I actually liked this track, normally the radio friendly tracks aren’t my favorites but I’m really feeling this one. New T.I. song, sort of, that just came out and is pretty dope. This track was released before but only with DJs tagging the whole song up, so this is the first version released without tags. I really like the beat and would like to hear it on a better version because judging the sound quality, I am pretty certain this is a rip. T.I.’s verses are quality and I love his easy going flow, it’s like he’s sitting me next to me telling a story. I’m not sure of this placement but am glad it finally got liberated. Busta and T.I. team up to do a track together track together, this actually got me pretty excited. Just to hear those two do their distinctive flows together on the same track interested the music nerd in me. However, this track isn’t as strong as I anticipted, but it is still good. This sounds like a rip to me too, so I will also give the mastered dirty version some listens also whenever I get my hands on it. Definitely a well done and good video. It has a nice concept and isn’t your typical rap video at all. Is anybody else still tripping out that T.I. and Rihanna used that melody from the Euro club song that was popular while I was in college? That shit used to make me laugh back then that crazy American kids knew the words to that random song and now T.I. using it haha. OK I looked it up and the song is called “Dragostea Din Tei”, and the video is priceless, click the song title to view it.
