Unfortunately, this year we had someone at CBS with a happy censor finger and instead of hearing the collaboration of the year you heard nothing, especially for us east-coasters. I was looking forward to this performance in particular because Travis was joining them onstage and to see how they worked the song with the noticeably absent Yeezy. Now that we have a better version I can say they did well incorporating one song into the next and cutting out Kanye’s verse but next time I would appreciate hearing most of the song on the original broadcast and not have to look for foreign taped channels which are easier on the censors.

Travis Barker has been posting a bunch of videos of him adding new beats courtesy of his live drumming and someone decided to finally put the songs into a mixtape. If you haven’t heard any of these remixes then you have to take a listen to the musical genius he provides the songs. The “Forever” remix is one in recent memory that I watched a few times and was feeling the different beats he provided for each verse. Grab the download and tracklist below the break. Also shouts to my man Xplosive for the tape and congrats on his recent deal with Fontana. From TMZ: Cops tell us DJ AM — also known as Adam Goldstein — was found dead this afternoon in New York City. Law enforcement sources tell us he was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We’re told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. Sources tell TMZ prescription pill bottles were found by DJ AM’s body this afternoon. We’re told DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days — one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door. We’re told the friend called the police, who broke down the door and then found DJ AM’s body. Back in September of 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Four people died in the crash — which was caused when the airplane aborted takeoff and then ran off the runway. DJ AM and Barker were the only survivors. Man this is sad. DJ AM was still a young dude and he did great work. I’m going to try to remain optimistic by not jumping to the conclusion that drugs were his ultimate downfall because more than enough celebrities have fallen for this reason. R.I.P. & T.R.O.Y. DJ AM.
OK so we were gone all weekend and missed the plane crash killing 4 and seriously wounding Travis Barker (Blink-182, Expensive Taste, etc) and DJ AM. Investigators believe a faulty tire is to blame for the incident now. I heard that both Travis and DJ AM were pretty badly burned but luckily the largest burn center in the US is near Columbia, SC, where their plane crashed.
