Chromeo released their 80’s sounding album Business Casual on Tuesday and “I Could Be Wrong” was the bonus track for the digital version of it. The duo could’ve easily inserted this on the album and it would have fit perfectly with a St. Elmo’s Fire sounding sax solo, a conversation about a girl in the middle and help from Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig on vocals. The last time I heard of these two groups linking for a track it was for VW’s “The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance” (Chromeo Remix) which was my jam for a while and can be seen played live by clicking on the link. We will only be streaming this song but you can get it by buying the deluxe version of the album on iTunes here.
Yes I still feel like a girl having to type that at the top of the page despite the last soundtrack being one of the better indie compilations in recent memory. The Eclipse soundtrack picks up right where that one left off too with names like Cee Lo, Florence + The Machine, Muse, Metric, Black Keys & Vampire Weekend all taking songs for yet another epic album. Do the teenage girls who like this stuff even realize how incredible these soundtracks are? My guess is probably not but if every teeny bopper movie series came out with dope soundtracks like this I know it would be a lot easier to tolerate them. Grab the tracklist and this free album stream until tomorrow at noon and you can even pre-order it at the official site all below the break.
I am only going to post the streaming audio since I don’t think this is an official leak. B.o.B teams up with Janelle Monae and they put their own twist on one of my favorite Vampire Weekend songs. The lyrics are changed throughout and they also give it a little hip-hop streak while keeping the same bass melody from the original. You won’t have to wait long to get this album because it drops on Tuesday.

I don’t post a lot of remixes up here but I do tend to listen to quite a few if it is a great remixer or a couple artists mashed together that I like and this one does it well.
Shouts to KTP for always keeping us up on the dope remixes and indie scene.
I think our friends at Prefix Mag described this video best so I’m gonna hand it over to them for the description.
Yeah, Rza is the line judge and thats not even the beginning of the craziness. Contra is in stores now.
Vampire Weekend recently performed an acoustic set in France for La Blogotheque and I think they gave the French a reason to like Americans. Not only do they perform a dope set of songs from both albums and a cover of the Honeycomb’s “Have I the Right”, but Ezra even speaks a little bit of French to the crowd which surely impressed me. As you can tell I like watching groups who can rock an acoustic show as it showcases their musical talents and the great structure and lyrics of the songs. Go see these guys if you are fan like me because their concert is a college late night dance party with great music.
In preparation for being the first big release of 2010 the boys at Vampire Weekend decided to put their entire new album, Contra, available for streaming on their MySpace page. If you haven’t checked out some of their new material go watch their video for “Cousins”, which we featured on B&B and is classic VW. At first, I wasn’t as excited for this album because the first song I heard, “Horchata”, wasn’t my favorite but all the songs since have reminded me of the excellence of their first album while still retaining a new feel to them. Check out the rest of album on their site and especially “White Sky” which might be my favorite on the new album.
This is the latest single from Vampire Weekend’s upcoming album Contra which is due in stores in January. “White Sky” has been played at shows by them before but they finally posted the official MP3. Notice, I said posted because VW put it up on their MySpace page (how archaic, right?) and you can get to it by clicking on the link. The song has the typical bouncy lyrics and unusual falsetto singing of Ezra Koenig, all staples for a Vampire song for me. Check the link above or below and you can also check out their song “Cousins” there too because it got taken down on B&B.

Since my post for the “Cousins” mp3 had to be removed I am glad we get a video so soon afterwards so everyone can take a listen to it. Vampire Weekend are releasing their second album, Contra, January 11th of next year and it should be as good as their self-titled debut. The video itself is very simplistic with the band all taking turns riding a simple dolly system set up for moving camera shots in an alley in what looks like NYC. Be sure to grab this album when it drops early next year!
Vampire Weekend is releasing their upcoming album Contra on January 11th and this is the second single I have heard off of it. The first single, “Horchata”, I wasn’t really feeling as much as I did the old Vampire Weekend but this song brings me back on track. “Cousins” is a little different then the past singles I have liked and reminds me of “Campus” of their self-titled debut but with a little more edge. I was worried for a second that I might not like this upcoming album but thankfully I know I will now have something to rock to early in the new year.

Update: Sorry no posting a download per Vampire Weekend and their label. So instead I leave you with this awkward post with no audio lol, sorry everyone.
