Young JeezyPosts Tagged ‘Young Jeezy’This is hot off the net and at the time I can’t find a working link so you will just have to stream from YouTube. The song is hot with the new Jeezy verse (Drake’s verses saw the light of day several weeks ago) and sounds a lot better and worthy of of being on his album Thank Me Later. I don’t know what it is about Jeezy but he is one of the few rappers that reps the streets that I still listen to on a regular basis. Drake’s album may have the most star studded features from an album that we have seen in a while and I can’t wait to see the final tracklist.

Song: Stay Off The Fuckin’ Flowers feat. Raekwon There have been many instances in music history when rap and rock collided to form products that we would much rather forget (insert Limp Bizkit joke here). Although the idea itself does not seem radical or impossible by any means, the success rate of rap/rock projects is abysmal. This was definitely not the case for Blakroc, a collaboration project between blues-rock duo The Black Keys and Dame Dash which exceeded everyone’s expectations. This project succeeded because of how well blues-rock works with hip-hop and because of the calibre of talent amongst the artists on the album allowed the music to come about naturally as opposed to contrived and forced (which is how many rap/rock projects sound). Everyone on this album brought their A-game; hell, even Jim Jones surprised everyone by spitting two of the hottest verses on the entire album (need I remind you that we’re comparing Jim Jones to other featured rappers like Mos Def and Q-Tip). Blakroc is the best collaboration project of the year because it never once felt forced. After the jump, read and listen to the full list of honorable mentions for this category. I wanted to post more hip-hop but honestly it has been pretty slow the past couple days so more Rihanna, this time though I actually like it. Rihanna channels her inner-rapper for this one and talk about how she is hard, which is kind of ridiculous but it is still a good tune haha. I’m not sure if it is a single or not but I am pretty sure it is off her upcoming album Rated R. I will not be posting the download link out of principle and plus if you really wanted it you could get it, or wait to buy it when it drops later this month. This joint is off of Young Jeezy and DJ Folk’s mixtape Trappin’ Ain’t Dead and is finally available with no DJ tags. Drake and Young Jeezy go in (cheesy pun intended) on this song but I am just not that big of a fan of Wayne’s rhymes, no hate, his music just isn’t for me. Jeezy has a pretty unique flow on this, especially for him, I had never heard him rap like this but I liked hearing him switch it up. I wonder when the hell the bidding war for this guy is going to end? I have heard both WMG/Atlantic and Universal/Motown both claim they got him but you know that can’t be the case. Shouts to Mr. X for liberating this for us. Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. Pop rap isn’t my favorite part of hip-hop these days but occasionally there will be some tracks that are so infectious even I can’t deny them, like “All the Above” by Maino. There is just something about the T-Pain sung chorus that I can’t get out of my head when I hear it. Young Jeezy also is someone who is mainstream that I am a fan of so it was a natural for me to want to post this. I also put this on my Please Frogive Me AutoTune… playlist I threw together which is a great group of summer songs to throw into the rotation at whatever ever BBQ or beach you are going to this Memorial Day weekend. Yeah…that’s about all I can say about a remix. New video from Mr. West and Young Jeezy that debuted today on BET. The still shots from the video were dope and the video has a bunch of cool shots of Hawaii. I agree with Kanye too, the helicopter shots from Hawaii are incredible and makes me want to go back immediately. Mr. Gay Fish then attempts to do an interview with no ego and crashes and burns miserably haha. It’s great to see GLC on there with him too, he never gets enough shine. The full CD quality version of the Jay-Z remix to Young Jeezy and Nas’ song “My President is Black”. They cut out everything except Jay’s verse and his new chorus, I would’ve have definitely like to have seen it just tacked on to the end of the original but oh well. Speaking of our president, I figure a song with this title is as good as any place to put the Obama inauguration speech so click the link below for that. The speech was very all encompassing and touched on the wide ranging goals he hopes to accomplish, which is a very tall task right now, and yet you can’t help but feel hopeful after seeing that speech.
